Along the Thames

“Sweet Thames! run softly, till I end my song.” – Edmund Spenser

This gallery is a loving tribute to the River Thames.  My husband and I took a three-mile walk along the river from Marlow to Bourne End in August of 1996. We were living in London at the time, and saw the walk as an opportunity to get away from household chores and the traffic and congestion of the city.

Little did I know that the Thames would become a passion as well as an inspiration, and that within a year and a half, I would cover over 180 miles along its shores, taking photographs on each leg of the journey and working with them in the studio, making my first temperaprints and etchings.
